The first-ever College
Football Playoffs are set, and it’s a major innovation for the future of the
sport followingyears of complaints about the BCS system. Making up the top four are Oregon, Alabama, Florida State, and Ohio
State, which just happen to all be Nike sponsored teams, leaving a perfect
opportunity for the Swoosh to debut something innovative of their own.
Each team will be
outfitted with the all-new Nike Vapor Untouchable cleat, which they are calling
their its most innovative football cleat to date. The Vapor
Untouchable is the first Flyknit cleat made with recycled polyester yarn, with
each pair being the equivalent of five recycled plastic bottles. Flyknit
makes the upper, and is supported by Flywire, a Nike Skin overlay, and a
Carbon-V Plate which all come together for 360 degree support system for the foot.
Along with the Vapor
Untouchable cleats, each team in the playoffs will be wearing Nike Mach Speed
uniforms with special design cues and enhancements. Each uniform comes with a
unique Nike Pro Combat Hypercool baselayer design, all-new Nike Vapor
Knit gloves, and a fractal diamond-color Swoosh on the front of the uniform
to represent the chase of the National Championship.
