Asics GT 2000 GTX

Nowadays, people are more practical to choose hybrid shoes, like the Asics GT 2000 GTX , over terrain-specific ones for many reasons. One could enjoy varied terrains for a price of one shoe pair, as compared to buying dozens of pairs for specific purposes. The latter might fare well among professionals, but recreational athletes might see this as a bad investment. The Asics GT 2000 GTX  will do great among entry- level trail runners, or even among people who just want to enjoy a stable and responsive ride on the pavement.
Arch support and pronation control
The Asics GT 2000 Trail is a stability shoe. Stability shoes are said to be focused more on the support of the shoes than the running technique. They are also in demand for the deceleration of pronation. Pronation is the normal inward rolling movement of the foot while running. Stability shoes normally have a post, which provides medial support. The Asics GT 2000 Trail has the Dynamic DuoMax Support System, which is effective in correcting moderate to over pronation and facilitating better transitions from heel strike to toe off. The sock liner of the shoe is also removable if you want to put in arch support insoles.
Terrain
The Asics GT 2000 Trail is designed to be a trail shoe; however, its shoe technologies and construction reflect that it could be versatile enough to work on both track and trail. Many runners would see this versatility as strength since not everyone focuses on one thing. Pavement runners would eventually venture into the unknown off-roads and vice versa. The Asics GT 2000 Trail can handle even and uneven surfaces on both uphill and downhill routes. It could also be used indoors, like gyms.
Use

The Asics GT 2000 Trail is pretty versatile. It is recommended for light trails, yet it could also be used on the road. The shoe is best taken advantage of during training because its weight is not for speed work. Recreational athletes could also use the Asics GT 2000 Trail for cross fit training, weight loss routines and the like.
Durability
Trail shoes need to be durable because uneven terrains are tricky to overcome. Runners can encounter all sorts of things like mud and pebbles, which can cause wear and tear on the shoes. For it to last long, Asics incorporated some of their tried and trusted technologies to enhance the shoe’s durability and wear resistance.
Fit and sizing
The Asics GT 2000 Trail has a standard size when it comes to length. Its normal standards also gave way to the fact that its mid-foot, heel and forefoot region can accommodate medium widths. Runners with large feet may not like the fit of the shoe because of the short laces and narrow heel fit.
Outsole
Like any other trail shoes in the Asics lineup, the outsole of the Asics GT 2000 Trail features an aggressive pattern that is recommended for varied terrain. As a track and trial hybrid shoe, the outsole needs to adapt to the changing surfaces without compromising performance and comfort. The shoe technologies present in the outsole of the Asics GT 2000 Trail are DuraSponge outsole, AHAR compound and the Trail Specific treading pattern.
Midsole
The midsole of the Asics GT 2000 Trail features a list of Asics’ latest shoe technologies. Together, they enhance the support, stability, protection against impact and responsiveness of the shoe. Nobody can deny that Asics took cushioning to a higher level in the model. It includes two cushioning technologies, namely the Rear Foot and Forefoot GEL cushioning systems. Its main midsole material is the Solyte platform with the SpEVA 55 Lasting. Other shoe technologies in the midsole include the FluidRide technology, Impact Guidance System, Guidance Line and the Guidance Trusstic System.
Upper
The newly improved upper construction of the Asics GT 2000 Trail contains a few shoe technologies which improve the shoe’s breathability, flexibility and support. It has open mesh layers and synthetic overlays, which are present in other performance shoes. Its lacing system uses the discrete eyelet construction. Other technologies to take note of are the ComforDry sock liner, Personal Heel Fit foam and the Strobel Last, which connect the upper to the midsole platform.
Summary
It did not come as a great surprise that Asics would reincarnate their legendary Asics GT-2170. Due to popular demand, the Asics GT 2000 Trail was manufactured and sold. The trail and track hybrid shoe is a great investment for recreational and professional athletes that want to pursue mixed trail/ track runs. The shoe is packed with technologies that focused on improving the stability, breathability, support and durability on both even and uneven surfaces. Comfort and design were also not compromised in achieving this. The high-end Asics GT 2000 Trail is undeniably expensive, but every penny is certainly worth it if you plan to improve your active lifestyle.
Price
The Asics GT 2000 Trail originally retails at $120. As one of the high-end shoes by Asics, the price is rather expected. Asics trail shoes are commonly priced high because of the trail-oriented technologies incorporated in their construction.
