Adidas Adizero Takumi- Sen

Boost your elite racing performance with the new racing flat from Adidas, the Adizero Takumi Sen. Also known as the Takumi Sen Boost, this product is now on its 3rd version, yet it is the first model from the upgrades to feature the Adidas Boost midsole. This midsole technology features energy- return properties that charge the runner with light and fast movement. Other technologies of the shoe include the Continental Rubber outsole, Coolever mesh and QUICKSTRIKE outsole.

Arch support and pronation control

As shown by its low and minimal profile, the Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen is a neutral shoe marketed to neutral pronators and supinators (under pronators). It has a low stack height, which allows elite racers to feel more of the ground while increasing their running speed on the road.

Terrain

Despite its sleek undersurface, the Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen is versatile enough for the track and trail. It is originally designed as a road shoe, but it could fare well on light and nature trails. Due to the presence of the QUICKSTRIKE outsole and Continental Rubber compound, runners can enjoy exceptional grip on both wet and dry surfaces.

Use

Designed for racing and speed workouts, the Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen will put fast energy in every step on the road, track and gravel. Some runners also use this shoe for cross training and casual wear.

Durability

The durability of the Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen is top- notch. Its outsole can take on 150 km of varied terrain without any hint of wear and tear.  Its upper Coolever mesh is also made of resilient material to allow a durable stretch. The long- lasting boost midsole will ensure energy- return properties for miles on the road.

Outsole

The outsole of the Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen features brand- exclusive technologies, such as the QUICKSTRIKE outsole, Continental Rubber compound and the AdiWear material.

Midsole

Despite a low and lightweight construction, the midsole part of the shoe is still packed with premium technologies, including the Boost midsole, Sprint Frame, adiLITE cushioning, Lightstrike EVA and Torsion System.

Upper

Technologies, such as the Teijin Japanese mesh, Tirennina suede overlays, External Heel Counter and the Coolever mesh upper, make up the upper construction of the Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen.

Heel cushioning

Heel strikers will find a firm sole in the Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen, which works best in facilitating a smooth heel to toe transition. The men’s version of the shoe has a heel cushioning rating of 3 out of 10, while the women’s version has a score of 2.

Forefoot cushioning

As compared to heel cushioning, the forefoot also has adequate cushioning, albeit firmer and more flexible. The men’s and women’s versions of the Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen have ratings of 2 and 1 respectively in terms of forefoot cushioning.
The Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen is indeed a great choice for elite racing. Created by Omori and Mimura, two master cobblers from Japan, you can only expect premium performance and top-notch speed from this model. Despite its expensive price tag, racers are likely to improve their speed record on the gravel, road and track if they take advantage of the shoe’s innovations. The Boost midsole is indeed a welcomed change in the model’s overall construction, while the reliability of the QUICKSTRIKE outsole, Coolever mesh and Continental Rubber outsole ensures the comfort, traction and grip, heat and sweat management, and durability of the shoe.

Price

The Adidas Adizero Takumi Sen is originally priced at $160, which is quite expensive for racing shoes.
