Adidas Adistar Raven 3

Adidas Adistar Raven 3 is the latest version of the Adistar Raven family, introduced after the Adistar Raven 2. Though both versions looked stylish and comfortable, some new features still make Adidas Adistar Raven 3 much better.
Mainly built for trailing enthusiasts, Adidas Adistar Raven 3 provides both comfort and stability through its adaptive Traxion feature. This feature allows the shoes to give you a grip regardless of any surface. Furthermore, the Adidas Adistar Raven 3 also features a techfit™ upper that provides a seamless, sock-like fit, and a natural yet flexible support. These sleek trail shoes will surely grant you a comfortable journey either in the rocky and steep mountains, the thick forests, the sandy and hot deserts, or in the wet marshes and swamps.

Arch support and Pronation Control

The arch support of the Adidas Adistar Raven is neutral. This means that the Raven is designed for people with a higher arch, which will help encourage a more natural foot motion. You will know if you have a high arch when your trails show just your heel, a ball of foot and a thin line where your arch would be found. This arch type is one that is very rare and you need the help of a neutral arch support like the one provided by the Adidas Adistar Raven. The Adidas Adistar Raven will help you stabilize the amount of shock that your legs will absorb and help you normalize your motion control.

Terrain

The terrains where the Adidas Adistar Raven is designed for use are the trails, mountains, and off-trail terrains. These terrains are often challenging since there are large ascents and descents. The running surface is also uneven, with the presence of rocks and pebbles. There are also chances of walking through mud packed surfaces, which is expected after rain or in wet foliage.

Use

The Adidas Adistar Raven is designed for trail running often at short distances or in normal training. Trail running is a sport-involving running and hiking over trails, often in mountainous terrains. Since there are uneven surfaces and unforgiving terrains that you have to encounter during trail running, having shoes, which are stable and durable, are necessary. The Adidas Adistar Raven can support trail runners through its tight grip features and heavy cushioning.

Durability

As I have mentioned in my Pros and Cons review, the Adidas Adistar Raven is a shoe made for longevity. Its drawstrings will not easily tear if you use more tension to tighten the shoes. The upper is also made of durable nylon fabric, which protects the shoe from the effects of smashing or dragging on the ground.

Outer sole

The outer sole of the Adidas Adistar Raven is designed to offer you the most effective protection and performance as well as durability. One of the components of the outer sole is the Continental Rubber. This guarantees that the traction and grip of your shoes are intact despite wet conditions. Thus, you need not worry when it is raining, going through shallow mud, or you got your shoes wet. The Continental Rubber will assure you that you do not slip.

Midsole

The Raven is designed with structural midsole elements. These elements offer long-term support and cushioning to your feet as opposed to traditional cushioning systems. There is also the presence of the a³ which is a midsole system from independent molded elements. It is made to guide cushion, and drive your foot through the entire foot strike.

Price

The recommended retail price of Adidas Adistar Raven is $130. It might be quite pricey, but the benefits that you get from it somehow will make it a worthwhile investment.
